Unc Charlotte Macc Program
Students admitted to the program who have not completed a baccalaureate degree in accounting as described above can expect prerequisite deficiency courses to be added to their plan of study. Deficiency course requirements will be determined by the program coordinator.
The number of students admitted to the program and the grade point average and GMAT score required for admission may vary from semester to semester, depending on program capacity and qualifications of the pool of qualified applicants. The program reserves the right to curtail admission, adjust requirements, and limit enrollment in the program because of space or budget restrictions.

The admission process into the MAcc program in the Monfort College of Business at the University of Northern Colorado is subject to the approval of the Coordinator of the MAcc program in consultation with the Director of the Department of Accounting and Computer Information Systems and the Dean of the Monfort College of Business and the Dean of the Graduate School. Additionally, the candidate must meet minimum admissions criteria. Our program allows nine hours of graduate work to be completed by a senior with at least a 3.0 GPA before he or she is admitted into the graduate program.
Criteria for Admissions into the MAcc Program
The primary criteria in determining eligibility for admission to the Monfort College of Business MAcc Program are previous academic achievement and performance on the Graduate Management Admission Test (GMAT) and other factors such as work experience and career progression. Applicants must submit a completed application form and transcripts from every institution of higher education attended. Each applicant is considered on an individual basis.
GMAT examination scores must be sent to the Graduate School.
For students with a non-accounting bachelor's degree, additional undergraduate course work completion (called 'leveling courses') will be required before being accepted into the program. Applicants must complete all of the coursework listed above to fulfill the course prerequisites for the graduate program.
Additional Requirements for International StudentsUnc Mac Program
All international students and any applicant educated outside the U.S. must demonstrate proficiency in English. Those whose native language is not English, or whose language of instruction for their undergraduate degree was not English, will be required to submit a score from the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL).
To be admitted into the MAcc graduate program, all applicants must have completed an undergraduate degree and the graduate course prerequisites.
Students who are not admitted into the program will be allowed in a probationary period and allowed to take up to nine hours of graduate courses without being admitted to the program. If they receive a grade of 3.0 GPA average or higher in those nine hours, they may be admitted into the program. In the next several paragraphs, retention policies are described.
Waiver of GMAT and other CriteriaUnc Mac Program Tuition
While we do encourage our students to meet the minimum criteria, failure to meet one may be offset by strengths in other areas, as determined by the Coordinator of the MAcc program, a MAcc Program committee, and the Dean of the Graduate School. Waiver of the GMAT is at the discretion of the Dean of the Graduate School and the Coordinator of the MAcc program. A waiver normally requires either an earned graduate degree in the field or another with a minimum GPA of 3.0 and a significant number of years of relevant work experience with strong letters of reference.

University of Northern Colorado undergraduate students should apply for admission to the MAcc program in the second semester of their senior year. They will be formally admitted to the graduate program when they complete the undergraduate degree and meet the other requirements for admission. Students should contact University of Northern Colorado's Financial Aid Office to confirm their financial aid eligibility when they are accepted to the MAcc program since the transition to graduate status can affect their financial aid eligibility.

Retention in MAcc Program
Once admitted, a student must remain continuously registered until graduation and maintain at least a 3.0 (B) GPA. If one falls below the 3.0 GPA, he or she will placed on academic probation but will be allowed to continue for an additional semester to improve his or her GPA to a 3.0 average. From the time the student is admitted to the MAcc program, a student has five years to complete the program.
